World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day is one singular initiative under which the entire world unites together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. It is observed every year on 4th February. World Cancer Day aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and urging individuals across the world to take action against the prevention of the disease.

For 2016 to 2018, the theme for the‘World Cancer Day’ was ‘We Can, I can.’ Under this theme, people are expected to, individually and collectively, understand and work towards lessening the impact and harmful effects of the condition globally.

To create awareness of the same, the students of class 11 conducted a special assembly on 5th February 2018. The special assembly began with a speech on the significance of the day followed by a thought for the day based on importance of good health. The assembly was concluded with the screening of a documentary video which highlighted the 8 early warning signs of cancer and causes of cancer.

The assembly was coordinated by Tr. Shaheena Basha.
